Class Community Project

Well done Room 9... we managed to collect an awesome (but disgusting) 30 big bags of rubbish this afternoon from Bishopscourt and Nairn St Park. Some interesting rubbish was found! The most dedicated rubbish collectors were Harry and Raymond and Taylor and Liam D. Great job guys! :)

Impact

If you want to have another look at the clips we have viewed to do with Impact (Linkin Park clip, Dove beauty campaign etc) click on the links under some good websites... Feel free to leave any comments.

Beijing Olympics 2008

As you all know by now the 2008 Olympic Games are due to start tomorrow. As part of your homework you are required to comment on one of the following statements. Choose the one that you feel most strongly about and put some thought into your answer. You need to write at least a paragraph, clearly stating your view and if you are for or against. Remember to use correct language and grammar (this is not Bebo or msn!!) and check your spelling and punctuation.

1. Rugby should be a sport at the Olympic games
2. The Olympics should not be held because of the risk of terrorism
3. Canada is offering their athletes $20000 if they win a gold medal, $15000 for a silver medal and $10000 for a bronze medal. Do you think New Zealand should do the same? What are the pros and cons of doing this?
4. Every single athlete from every country should be drug tested before and during the Olympics.

Remember to label your writing - I need to know who wrote what. I am looking forward to reading some interesting and valid arguments. Good Luck !! :)

Sea Creature Pic Books...

After all of our hard work, we have completed our picture books!! Last week we went to Balaclava School to present to them our buddies who really enjoyed them. All of the books look fantastic and you can be proud of how they turned out :)

Well done to the following people who received Teacher Awards for their books:
The First Day by Jess and Sophie
The Big Surprise by Michaela and Gabe
First Day at School by Ben H and Taylor
Daniel and Josh's Big Fight by Raymond and Harry

Leave a comment about your pic book. How did it turn out? What would you do differently next time? Make sure you leave your name as a label too.
